The old saying, “two heads are better than one” is very apt in describing the good work done by volunteers Joyce and Marie Berger. Both ladies are recent recipients of the Pierce Pepin Cooperative Services’ Live Better Community Service Award. The Bergers each received the award and a $100 Visa® gift card on August 9 for their work volunteering in Plum City and the surrounding community.
In nominating the Bergers, Gerald Drier said, “They are wonderful people who are always trying to bring a smile to someone’s face and make a difference within their community.”
The Berger sisters have been very active in the local community. They visit shut-ins, taking communion to them, and play bingo with residents of the Plum City Care Center. They work on local elections and help with decorating for the deceased, a cemetery decoration program. They were the 2022 Creek Park Day Marshalls at the Arkansaw Fur, Fish, and Game Festival.
In their spare time, the Bergers garden, ride horses, enjoy time with family and friends, help at church, read, and do other outdoor activities.
Congratulations, Joyce and Marie, and thank you for using your talents to make a difference in our community!
