Ellsworth, WI - A group of 29 electric co-ops has created a regional electric vehicle (EV) charing network across Wisconsin, ILlinois, Iowa and Minnesota named CHARGE EV, LLC.  The network includes over 30 level 2 and Level 3 charging stations.  Read more ...

Operation Round Up Grants Support Local Non-Profits
Ellsworth, WI - Pierce Pepin Cooperative Services (PPCS) recently announced grants for three local charitable organizations.  PPCS members made these grants possible through their support of the co-op's Operation Round Up program.  Grants were approved in the amount of $1,000 each at the cooperative's October board meeting.  Read more ...

Operation Round Up Grants Stock Pierce and Pepin County Food Shelves
Ellsworth, WI - Pierce Pepin Cooperative Services members are helping stock Pierce and Pepin County food shelves through the co-op's Operation Round Up program.  At their October meeting, the PPCS board awarded $12,000 in grants to eight food pantries.  Read more ...

PPCS Members Demonstrate Concern for Community at Member Appreciation Event

"Milk Gallon Giveaway" Provides More than 14,000 Gallons of Milk
Ellsworth, WI -  Pierce Pepin Cooperative Services (PPCS), in partnership with the Wisconsin Electric Cooperative Association, Kwik Trip, and other participating Wisconsin electric cooperatives delivered 14,016 gallons of milk to members in June's Milk Gallon Giveaway.  Read more ...

PPCS Launches Podcast
Ellsworth, WI -  Communicating effectively with cooperative members and the public is a priority for Pierce Pepin Cooperative Services (PPCS).  PPCS uses traditional mediums, such as magazines, newspaper ads and radio commercials and in recent years, they’ve added social media channels like Facebook and Instagram to the mix.  Now, they’ve gone a step further and created the “Live Better” podcast.  Read more ...

License to Live: Wisconsin Electric Cooperatives Launch Educational Campaign for Drivers
Ellsworth, WI - Wisconsin Electric Cooperatives and Safe Electricity are launching an educational campaign aimed at making sure drivers know what to do if they are in a crash that involves power lines or other electrical equipment. “License to Live” includes an educational video and other instructional materials and was funded by the Federated Rural Electric Insurance Exchange.  Read more ...

Pierce Pepin Cooperative Services Puts Finishing Touches on Campus Updates 
Ellsworth, Wis.– The last time Pierce Pepin Cooperative Services (PPCS) made any major updates to its headquarters building and grounds was in 2001 when the cooperative underwent a major remodeling.  Every home and building needs updates from time to time and, after close to 20 years, this spring seemed like the right time to make updates to the PPCS grounds. Read more ...

Operation Round Up Grants Support Critical Services
Ellsworth, WI – Pierce Pepin Cooperative Services (PPCS) members are supporting critical local services through the co-op’s Operation Round Up program. Grants were approved for three organizations at the cooperative’s May 7 board meeting:  Have a Heart, Inc., received $3,000 for group home remodeling; Assistance & Resource Center received $2,000 for rent assistance and the Durand Fire Department received $1,500 for assistance with the purchase of a new brush truck.  Read more ...

Ellsworth, WI – Pierce Pepin Cooperative Services (PPCS) members are helping local programs through the co-op’s Operation Round Up program. Grants were approved in the amount of $1,500 each for four organizations at the cooperative’s January 2 board meeting:  Our Neighbor’s Place for food and gas purchases for community members in need; Basics for Local Kids, Inc., for winter outer wear for local children in need; Pierce County Veteran Services, for assistance with purchase of a van for the transportation program; Free Clinic of Pierce and St. Croix Counties, for program support.  Read more ...

Pierce Pepin Cooperative Services Update on Dairyland Power Cooperative Genoa #3 Plant
Ellsworth, WI – Last Thursday, Dairyland Power Cooperative announced the closing of its coal fired Genoa #3 generation plant located in Genoa, Wisconsin, in mid to late 2021.  Pierce Pepin Cooperative Services, an electric distribution member of Dairyland, receives 100% of its power supply from the Dairyland generation assets.  PPCS was previously aware of this decision and provided input through their seat on the Dairyland board of directors.  Read more ...

Reis Achieves Credentials in Utility Competencies
Ellsworth, WI – Dan Reis, a board member with Pierce Pepin Cooperative Services, was recognized by the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) for his commitment to education, earning the Board Leadership Certificate (BLC). Wisconsin Co-op Linemen Electrify Rural Guatemalan Village
Madison, Wis. – Twelve linemen from Wisconsin, Illinois, and Iowa electric cooperatives traveled to Guatemala this month to volunteer their services to help families in a rural village get electricity for the very first time.  Wisconsin Electric Cooperative Association (WECA) President and CEO Steve Freese, Taylor Electric Cooperative Board Chairman/National Rural Utilities Cooperative Finance Corporation (CFC) Board leader Dean Tesch joined four Wisconsin linemen in participating in the Partners for a Brighter Tomorrow project. Boettcher named new Pierce Pepin President and CEO   
Ellsworth, Wis. – Pierce Pepin Cooperative Services appointed Nathan Boettcher the cooperative’s new president and chief executive officer effective October 1, 2019. Board Chairman Roger Wiff made the announcement during an all-employee meeting on Friday, September 6. 
Boettcher comes to Pierce Pepin Cooperative Services from National Information Solutions Cooperative (NISC) in Lake Saint Louis, Missouri.  Read more ...

Ellsworth, WI
 –Pierce Pepin Cooperative Services provided grants totaling $4,000 to three organizations supporting education in its service territory:  Ellsworth Elementary School Positive Solutions class; FORWARD RF River Falls Public School Foundation; and Friends of Freedom Park.  Each grantee will use the funds for programs, supplies or projects that enhance educational opportunities for youth in our region. Ellsworth, WI – JoAnn Martin is Pierce Pepin Cooperative Services’ Live Better Community Service Award winner for the second quarter of 2019. Martin was presented the award and a $100 Visa® gift card on May 16 for her selfless work as a volunteer at Our Neighbors’ Place in River Falls, Wis. Martin has volunteered every Thursday for the past 10 years, providing haircuts to the guests of Our Neighbors’ Place free of charge.  Read more ...
